Our Grandad

Our Grandad. Where do we start?...

Bacon and egg! Your haven't tasted a full breakfast until you have been to Grandad's kitchen! Bacon, fried egg, tomatoes and white bread smothered in Lurpack. One thing for sure if you never left Grandads feeling hungry. "short of nothing we've got" we remember him saying and he really wasn't kidding. He had more tea bags than Morrisons!

Being picked up from school by Grandad was always a good day. We couldn't wait to jump in the car, open the glove box and waiting for us would be a hock sandwich, a bag of sweets and a bottle of magic pop. Grandad knew how to pack an after school snack.

During school holidays Grandad always planned for so much fun. We knew it was going to be a good day if it was a Grandad day. Going to the park, eating ice cream, going to the cinema and of course trips to theme parks. Packed lunch in the car and off we went. We could always count on Grandad to join us on the big loop the loop or any other ride we wanted, often with Nicola and Grandma watching on in horror. We're not sure they were his favourite rides but he would never say no to something that made us smile.

We could stand here all day talking about memories and amazing stories of all the fun we had and all those memories will be with us forever. But the one thing they all have in common is that our Grandad was the kindest, friendliest and most generous man!

Not a day went by when we didn't know how much he loved us.

Not a day went by when he didn't know how proud he was of the things we had achieved.

Not a day went by without knowing that we were loved.

We were the luckiest Granddaughters to know that no matter what Grandad was there with a smile, a hug and a sweetie or two.

We love you Grandad and we always will!
